Students, educators, and school choice advocates gathered at the state Capitol on May 5 for the Rockin’ the Capitol 2026 rally, organized by PA Families for Education Choice, to promote K-12 education freedom in Pennsylvania.

Students and leaders from several archdiocesan Catholic high schools attended the rally, including representatives from Archbishop Wood, St. Hubert, Lansdale Catholic, Conwell-Egan, Bishop Shanahan, and Cardinal O’Hara high schools. Students from SS. John Neumann and Maria Goretti and Roman Catholic high schools also participated.

Jay DeFruscio, chief operating officer for secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and Steve Clement, chief administrative officer, joined students for the event.

The rally also highlighted the 25th anniversary of Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The program supports need based scholarships administered by organizations such as Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) which helps families afford tuition at Catholic schools across the commonwealth.
