The funds were raised through corporate donations, in-store promotions and community partnerships.

Rutter’s and Rutter’s Children’s Charities have announced that in 2025, the organizations notched more than $1.75 million in charitable contributions, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting children, families, education and food access across the communities it serves.

The impact came in many ways, including $600,000 in Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) donations. These funds supported scholarships, educational programs and workforce development initiatives that benefited students across multiple counties, including York, Bedford, Blair, Indiana, Dauphin, Schuylkill and Westmoreland.

Notable EITC-supported organizations included the Bedford County Regional Foundation, Foundation for Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), the Central Pennsylvania Scholarship Fund, York Academy Foundation, YWCA York, YWCA of the Roses and Junior Achievement of South-Central Pennsylvania.

Additionally, over $86,000 was donated by Rutter’s to a variety of other initiatives including increased contributions to the York County Safety Collab’s Honor Their Service Fund to recognize fallen and injured officers. Canister donations were also offered at each Rutter’s location, raising money for a different charity each month.

Addressing food insecurity remained a priority as well. In 2025, total food donations reached $19,000, including contributions from both Rutter’s and Rutter’s Dairy to the Central PA Food Bank’s Retail Donation Program, which aims to ensure access to essential nutrition for families throughout the region.

Alongside corporate donations, Rutter’s Children’s Charities contributed over $1 million to community-based programs in 2025. This total included $25,000 for youth sports organizations and $100,000 for Rutter’s Secret Santa program, which allowed employees to select a nonprofit of their choice to receive a $1,000 donation. Benefiting organizations included youth programs, food banks, animal shelters and other vital community services.

The charity also donated $100,000 to the TGR Foundation to support the creation of a Learning Lab in Philadelphia, helping provide educational opportunities and resources to students in underserved communities.

In total, Rutter’s and Rutter’s Children’s Charities’ charitable contributions for 2025 amounted to $1,759,589, underscoring their commitment to enhancing the communities where its employees and customers reside and work.

“At Rutter’s, giving back is a core part of who we are,” said Chris Hartman, Rutter’s VP of Fuels, Advertising and Development. “These donations highlight what’s possible when our team members, customers, and partners come together with a shared purpose.”
